Bangladesh’s historic win over England

DHAKA: Bangladesh beat England by 108 runs in the second Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.

England lost all wickets to score 164 to chase the Bangladesh-set 273-run target.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz bagged six wickets again while Shakib Al Hasan took four wickets.

The host earlier lost all wickets to score 296 in their second innings on day-3

Like the first innings, opening batsman Tamim Iqbal build up base making 40 runs before losing his wicket. Team-score was 65 then.

Later, Imrul Kayes, Mahmullah and Shakib Al Hasan scored 78, 47 and 41 runs respectively.

Adil Rashid of England bagged four wickets, Ben Stokes three and Jafar Ansari took 2 wickets.

The visitors earlier in their first innings scored 244-run losing all wickets in 81.3-over thanks to the dogged 99-run 9th wicket partnership between Chris Woakes (46) and Adil Rashid (44*).

Bangladesh, in their first innings, managed to score 220, though Tamim Iqbal earned 104 and Mominul Haque 66.

England won the first test against the host by 22 runs in Chittagong.
