DHAKA: Host New Zealand took an unassailable 2-0 lead by beating Bangladesh by 47-run in the second T20 international of the three-match series at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Friday (January 6).
Batting first, Kiwis scored 195-run losing seven wickets from their 20-over quota. Colin Munro hit a blazing 54-ball 101-run and Tom Bruce made 59-run off 39-ball.
Rubel Hossain took three wickets while Mashrafe Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan and Mosaddek Hossain took one wicket each.
In response, the visitors slumped to 148-run losing all wickets from 18.1-over. Sabbir Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah and Tamim Iqbal made 48, 39, 19 and 13 runs respectively.
IS Sodhi picked three wickets while BM Wheeler and KS Williamson took two wickets each. MJ Santner and TJ Boult took one wicket each in the match.
Earlier, visiting captain Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first in the match.
