DHAKA: Bangladesh are batting against host Sri Lanka in reply to their first innings total of 494/10 in the second day of the 1st Test at Galle International Stadium on Wednesday (March 8).

Tiger openers Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar are on the crease with 17 and 14 runs respectively.

Earlier, Sri Lanka lost all their wickets scoring 494-run. Kusal Mendis hit a serene 194-run while Asela Gunaratne, Niroshan Dickwella and Dilruan Perera scored 85, 75 and 51 runs respectively.

Of the Bangladesh bowlers, Miraz picked up four wickets giving away 113 in 22 over while Mustafizur Rahman took two giving away 68 runs in 25 over.

Besides, Taskin Ahmed, Subashis Roy and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each. Suranga Lakmal ran himself out.

Earlier on Tuesday, Sri Lanka captain Herath won the toss and decided to bat first on a well-rolled placid wicket.

Bangladesh have three changes - Sabbir, Rabbi and Taijul sit out while Mustafizur, Liton and Subashis are in.
