DHAKA: Sri Lanka scored 338-run losing all wickets in their first innings of the second and final test against Bangladesh at P Sara Oval stadium in Colombo on Thursday (March 16).
Dinesh Chandimal scored a wonderful century (138) helping the hosts to amass the fighting score.
Besides, Suranga Lakmal, Dhananjaya de Silva and Niroshan Dickwella scored, 35, 34 and 34 runs respectively.
Of the Bangladesh bowlers, Mehedi Hasan Miraz picked up three wickets while Mustafizur, Subashis Roy and Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets each. Taijul Islam took one wicket.
It, however, seems Bangladesh have let Sri Lanka off the hook. They’ve allowed the tail to score at least 100 more than they should have conceded.
Credit goes to Dinesh Chandimal, who stuck with the tail to make a combative century. He was well supported by Herath and Lakmal.
Bangladesh went on the defensive ploy with the second new ball, observes espncricinfo.com.
Early in the session, Shakib landed deliveries well outside leg to frustrate the batsman, when he could have perhaps tried to prise the batsmen out by attacking.
