DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Saturday (April 22) appointed top all rounder Shakib Al Hasan as captain for tigers in T20.
BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon announced the decision after the 16th meeting of executive committee.
It was BCB’s first meeting in 2017.
The decision came after the retirement of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza from the limited over edition of international cricket, and when rumors were in the air regarding appointment of new captain for tigers in T20.
However, tigers will see 3 distinguished captains in 3 formats by Shakib’s appointment in T2O captaincy, as Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mushfiqur Rahim have been serving as ODI and Test captains respectively.
