DHAKA: Bangladesh set a 258-run target for New Zealand in a tri-nation series ODI match in Ireland on Wednesday (May 17).

They lost nine wickets to score 257 runs in stipulated 50 overs at Dublin. 

Bangladesh rode fifties Soumya Sarkar 61 (67 balls), Mushfiqur Rahim (55 off 66 balls0 and Mahmudullah (51 off 56 balls). Hamish Bennett (3/31) and Ish Sodhi (2/40) were the main Kiwi wicket takers. 

Bangladesh have never beaten the Blackcaps in a neutral or away venue. Bangladesh’s first match against Ireland was abandoned due to rain. 

New Zealand won their first match against hosts Ireland. Mitchell Santner’s career best ODI figures set up a 51-run victory for New Zealand on Sunday (May 14). 

At the Clontarf Cricket Club, Castle Avenue in Dublin, New Zealand chose to field after winning the toss.

New Zealand eye series win as they face Bangladesh in the final match of Tri-series in Ireland. After a comfortable 51-run victory over hosts Ireland, New Zealand top the points table and need a win or a draw against the Tigers. 

Ross Taylor, George Worker, Neil Broom scored fifties for New Zealand while Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah were among the runs in their respective previous matches. 

Mashrafe Mortaza & his men will be looking to upset the blackcaps as the two teams look for as much as practice ahead of ICC Champions trophy, which begins from June 1.
