The players of Bangladesh cricket team will wear black badges in the semi-final match of the ICC Champions Trophy to mourn the tragic deaths in the recent landslides in three hill districts.
The tigers are set to wear black badges during the much-hyped 2nd semifinal match against India in Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham at 3:30 pm on Thursday (June 15).
However, tiger helmer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza expressed deep shock for the landslide victims in a post updated at his official page in Facebook on Wednesday (June 14).
The status reads, “In this season each year the news of casualties from landslides, resulted from hill-cutting and unplanned habitation being heard. Praying for all the souls demised in the landslides.”
Praying for salvation of departed souls of the victims, including the Army personnel who died during the rescue operation, Mashrafe wrote in the status, “Everyone can not sacrifice life for the country, but you did it.”
However, landslides triggered following heavy rainfall and advert weather claimed at least 150 lives including of four army personnel in Rangamati, Bandarban and Chittagong on Tuesday (June 13).
