DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election schedule has been announced. BCB election commissioner Omar Faruk confirmed that the polls will be held on October 31.
Earlier on October 5, BCB formed a five-member election commission in its last Board of Directors meeting and sent a letter to National Sports Council (NSC) three days later for approval.
NSC gave the approval on Tuesday (Oct 10). However, the NSC-approved election commission was slightly modified as Joint secretary of sports ministry Mohammad Omar Faruque was made chief election commissioner instead of Secretary Asadul Islam due to legal complications.
The four-year tenure of the current executive committee led by its president Nazmul Hassan will be ended on October 17. As per the requirement of International Cricket Council and the directives of the High Court, the country’s cricket apex body is taking their preparation for the poll.
