DHAKA: The visiting Bangladesh are facing South African bowlers, though they have already lost first wicket in the first One Day International (ODI) against the host South Africa at Kimberley. 

Opener Liton Das took 21 runs off 29 balls before going to pavilion with four 4. 

Shakib Al Hasan has joined the batting with Imrul Kayes. 

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa in the first of the three ODIs at Kimberley.

Opener Tamim Iqbal, fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman have been ruled out of the match. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Mohammad Saifuddin, a seam-bowling all-rounder, debuted in ODIs.

Besides, South Africa handed an ODI cap to fast bowler Dane Paterson.

AB de Villiers is back in action in internationals after a long four months. Faf du Plessis is playing the first ODI series as full-time ODI captain of South Africa.
