SIRAJGANJ: A fan of Brazil football team electrocuted in Ullapara of Sirajganj while celebrating his team’s scintillating win against Costa Rica in Russia World Cup group match.   

The deceased was identified as Mofizul Islam, 25, son of one Amir Hossain in Haowa village in Ullapara.

Mofizul sustained injuries from electrocution around 11pm Friday (June 22). Afterwards, he succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment in the wee hours of the night at the upazila health complex.

Tuku Islam, a union parishad member, told Banglanews that Mofizul was assembling a sound box to play music, for celebrating his favorite team Brazil’s 2-0 win against Costa Rica, at the night.

He was electrocuted while plugging in the connector of the sound box.

He was rescued by the locals and rushed to Ullapara health complex where he died afterwards.
