DHAKA: Apple's latest addition to the iPhone family — iPhone 6 — has successfully endured the most extreme drop test from a whopping height of 7000-12000 feet.

Richard Ryan, known for putting gadgets through several rounds of stress tests, earlier dipped an iPhone 6 Plus in liquid nitrogen, followed by a whack with a sledgehammer, and he then tested iPhone with a 50-caliber bullet.

After these, Ryan took the test to another level, he and his friends jumped out of a plane in wingsuits, rigged up with GoPros, to drop an iPhone 6 Plus from somewhere between 7,000 and 12,000 feet up. Before the drop, Ryan made sure that 'Find my iPhone' was activated and also attached a backup GPS beacon to the back of the phone. After hitting the ground, he was able to locate the smartphone in a dirt field using the native iPhone-locating app.

The phone appeared to have fallen face first, digging itself a pretty substantial divot into the soil and shattering the screen. Despite the glass giving way, the phone did appear to still be functional.
