DHAKA: State minister for posts and telecommunications Tarana Halim said that her government is eager to sign a deal with Facebook to stop harassment against women.

The state minister made this disclosure to the media after a meeting with Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) officials on Tuesday.

Political harassment will also be included in the deal, she added.

According to her, the previous BNP-Jamaat government should take initiatives regarding the sign of a anti-harassment deal with Facebook.

‘But the incumbent government is considering the issue eagerly.’
