Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over zero point only to stand at 4,566 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 94,713 with volume of transactions at Tk 4,363 million.

Of the issues traded, 131 advanced, 133 declined and 27 remained unchanged.

RENATA   topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 290 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were GP, MPETROLEUM, ACI SQURPHARMA, LAFSURCEML, HEIDELBCEM, OLYMPIC, PADMAOIL and BSCCL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,771 by dropping over 23 points.

Out of the issues traded, 76 gained, 120 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
