DHAKA: Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) chairman Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad claimed only 10 percent micro credit recipients succeeded coming up above the poverty line.

He claimed this while addressing a meeting at Agargaon PKSF Bhaban in city on Saturday. 

Showing research data Dr Kholiquzzaman said only 10 percent of the micro credit recipients succeeded to cross the poverty line in 2013 which was 9.4 percent in 2009.

He also said, “Poverty eradication is not being possible through the distribution of micro credit; even those who eradicated poverty are being failed to make their position stable.” 

With PKSF president Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad in the chair, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali among others were present in the meeting.
