DHAKA: Fazlus Sobhan, Senior Deputy Managing Director of Basic Bank Ltd, has been promoted to Managing Director as Fakhrul Islam was sacked on charge of massive irregularities and financial scam.

The decision came from an urgent meeting of the board of director on Monday. 

Sobhan completed his BSS and MSS on Political Science from University of Chittagong.

He joined the City Bank Ltd on 1984 and joined Basic Bank Ltd in 1996.

He also worked Industrial loan Department, Human Resource Department, International Department as Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director.
