Biman losses over Tk 1000cr in 3-yr

DHAKA: Biman Bangladesh Airlines incurred some Tk 1009.96 crores losses in last three fiscal years. 

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon came up with the disclosure while answering to a question of Sharif Ahmed MP from Mymensingh-2 constituency. 

Menon said that the amount of Biman’s loss is Tk 224.16, 594.21 crore and 191.59 crore in the fiscal years 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 respectively.

In reply to another query, the minister said that 10 aircrafts of Biman are currently flying to 19 international destinations-- Kolkata, Delhi, Yangon, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Katmandu, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha, Kuwait, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Rome, Frankfurt and London.
