TONGI: Executive Magistrate destroyed 2100 baskets formalin mixed mango and 1800 basket litchi in Dhour area under Turag Thana of Gazipur district on Wednesday night.

The mobile court filed 13 cases and gave 15-day jail to a man in this regard.

On the other hand, Morshed, 32 and Mahibul Alam, 24 and 5/7 others complained that some of their formalin-free fruits were destroyed due to negligence of police. 

Meanwhile, a complaint was found that by taking bribe, police allowed some formalin mixed fruits-loaded vehicles to entry in the capital. 

Beside, Executive magistrate Badiul Alam gave six months jail to two men and destroyed the fruits in Abdullapur check post. 

Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Masud, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) Inspector Mejbaul Hossain, Uttara Zone Assistant Deputy Commissioner Kamruzzaman, Turag Thana Inspector Abir, Inspector (investigation) Mahmud and 40-50 law enforcers jointly conducted the night-long drive.
