DHAKA: Housing and public works minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain said that factories will be shifted from Tejgaon Industrial Area.

The minister said on Thursday morning during his visit at RAJUK Bhaban.

He said that Tejgaon area is no longer suitable for industries. Residential and commercial buildings will be constructed in places of factories.

The minister further said that his ministry has been working on this issue and hope to submit papers to the cabinet soon.

He added that newly constructed Hatirjheel will be more picturesque. It will be connected with Baridhara, Gulshan and Banani lakes.

A high quality water treatment plant and ETP plant will be set up in that area, he added.

RAJUK chairman and other officials were present during the visit of the minister.
