FROM JATIYA SANGSAD: Per capita debt of Bangladesh has touched at Tk 12,700. 

Foreign loan (Public Sector) of the country till June 30 of fiscal year 2012-2013 was 24.907 million American dollar or Tk 195,146 crore.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith made the disclosure while addressing parliament in response to a question from Ayen Uddin from Rajhahi-3 constituency at Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.

He said, on 2012-2013, fiscal year Bangladesh paid 274.10 million American dollar or Tk 2,147.60 crore as the interest of foreign loan which was 8.6 percent of the import earning and 2.9 percent of GDP.

Some 3515.60 million dollar or Tk 27,544.70 crore was paid as the principal of loan.
