DHAKA: The budget for mayor-less Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will be declared respectively on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

For the fiscal year 2014-15, the DSCC budget will stand at Tk 1,800 crore while Dhaka North City Corporation would be announced its budget of Tk 2,000 crore.

The city corporation also set target for revenue collection from 24 sectors and holding tax is the main revenue earning sector.

Administrator M Ibrahim Hossain Khan of DSCC and Administrator M Farukh Jalil will place the budget.

Chief executive officer of DSCC told banglanews over phone that the budget would be declared in the Nagar Bhaban of the city. 

He added: “We are considering holding tax as the main source of revenue but we would not increase the tax in this sector. We will also collect tax from city corporations market.”

Chief executive officer BM Enamul Haq of DNCC said they will declare the budget in Gulshan Spectra Convention Centre.

Chief accounts officer M Amirul Islam said to banglanews that they expected revenue of Tk 400 crore holding tax and Tk 150 crore tax from corporation’s markets.
