DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed asked garments owners to pay the salary and bonus of the workers before Eid-ul-Fitr.

The commerce minister made the assertion after a meeting with European Union (EU) Ambassador William Hanna at his secretariat office on Thursday.

They met to discuss about one-year progress of Sustainable Compact Deal, signed with EU.

The minister said America and EU have accepted that the readymade garments industry have been developing after Rana Plaza tragedy.
