DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) governor Dr Atiur Rahman declared the target of loan in agricultural sector at Tk 15,500 crore during 2014-2015 fiscal year (FY).

The central bank governor officially made the announcement at BB office on Monday afternoon.

According to the policy, the BB set the target of loan sanction up to Tk 15,550 crore for the scheduled bank which is almost Tk 1,000 crore more than the previous FY.

The BB bank made the decision after the meeting with the scheduled bank authorities.

The agriculture sector’s loan policy has been made in coherence with the national budget to make the country fulfilled in food by increasing agricultural production, according to the policy.

The BB authorities said, now, the farmers will get loan easily from the previous days.
