DHAKA: The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) distributed forged currency identifying machines in the city freely on Monday.

Deputy Governor M Abul Kashem and Executive Director M Das Gupta Asim of Bangladesh Bank (BB) were among others present on the occasion.

Bangladesh Bank and FBCCI, the apex organization for businessmen of the country, jointly have taken the initiative to distribute the machines that can identify forged currency notes as the criminals become pro-active before the eid.

FBCCI President Kazi Akram Uddin presided over the program.
