Stocks end lower Wednesday

DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked fall again in its price indices on Wednesday. 

The broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 35 points only to stand at 4, 388 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 74, 610 with volume of transactions at Tk 3, 188 million.

Of the issues traded, 90 advanced, 160 declined and 47 remained unchanged.

BEXIMCO topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 600 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were GP, LAFSURCEML, SQUARETEXT, SPCL, PADMAOIL, FARCHEM, GENNEXT, ACTIVEFINE and HEIDELBCEM.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8, 321 by dropping over 67 points. 

Out of the issues traded, 49 gained, 118 declined and 37 remained unchanged.
