DHAKA: All branches of the scheduled banks will remain open in readymade garments industries area on Saturday to pay the salary and bonus of employees.

A circular was issued on the matter by Bangladesh Bank singed by its deputy general manager on Thursday.

The circular reads: “As per the request of Bangladesh Garments Manufactures & Exporters Association, branches of all scheduled banks will remain open in the industry including Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Narayanganj, and Chittagong on 26 July (Saturday) upon ensuring the adequate security to the branches.”

The order will not be effective elsewhere of the country, it adds.
