DHAKA: Workers of Tuba Group started taking salary of July month and overtime bills from Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) building on Sunday noon.

According to decision taken from tripartite meeting with worker, the government and BGMEA, the factory started to pay the wage and overtime allowance of July month around 1:55pm. 

On Saturday, a tripartite meeting was held between Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and workers with Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

The BGMEA has already paid the salary to the workers for the months of May and June on Wednesday and Thursday.

Earlier, the agitated workers staged demonstration, including hunger strike since July 28 at Badda of the capital demanding payment of May, June and July and festival bonus.
