DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Thursday categorically said Padma Bridge project would be financed by the government, not from the bond-money. 

The minister came up with the disclosure while briefing reporters after a meeting of Cabinet Committee for Purchase at secretariat’s cabinet division conference room.

He said, “There is no relation between Padma Bridge project and bond issues. Money allocation for the project is not a problem.”

In response to a query, he said, “The finance ministry is thinking noting over hiking fuel price. If the Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources (MPEMR) sends any proposal, I will take proper step.”
