DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Tuesday categorically said the government would change the rules in appointing director of Grameen Bank (GB).

The finance minister made the disclosure while talking to journalists in response to a query at his secretariat office.

Muhith said the initiatives would be taken within very short span of time.

Earlier, Bangladesh Bank (BB) was given the responsibility to appoint director but the authorities declined to do that as they were not the regulatory body.
