DHAKA: The National Income Tax Day-2013 being marked in the country on Monday with a view to creating mass awareness about income tax. 

The slogan for the Income Tax Day 2014 is 'Boost income tax, bring prosperity to the nation and the people'.

Ghulam Hussain, Secretary Internal Resources Division Chairman National Board of Revenue, inaugurated the programs of the day at NBR field around 9:00am in city. 

On observation of the Income Tax Day, a colorful rally was brought out after the inaugural ceremony. The rally started from NBR via fisheries building, Jatiya Press club, Purana Paltan and ended at NBR bhaban. 

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on the occasion.

In his message, President Hamid applauded the role of income tax in establishing social justice, balanced distribution of resources, and reducing disparity between the rich and the poor. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her message, greeted all the taxpayers and the tax officials.
