DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Tuesday categorically said recommendations of the Pay and Services Commission would be implemented from the next fiscal.

“The recommendations of the pay commission will be implemented from the next July,” he said.

The finance minister told the journalists after a meeting delegation of International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the Secretariat in the city.

In response to a question, Muhith, also ruling Awami League lawmaker, said, “I did not declare the implementation of the commission’s recommendations this year. My prime minister did not do so.”

The (recommendations of) pay commission would surely be implemented from July 1 of next fiscal year; the next budge will, obviously, have allocation on it, he added.

Muhith also told the journalists that the government would seek 500 million US dollar from World Bank (WB) for the next budget.
