Pran gets buyers’ attention at SIAL Fair

DHAKA: The products of Pran-RFL Group have received high buyers’ appreciation in the Salon International de l'Agroalimentaire (SIAL), the largest food and beverage fair in the world, held in Paris from October 19 to 23. 

This trade show is dedicated to the agri-food industry, food retail, and institutional and commercial catering. 

As a multi-specialist exhibition, it brings all the food channels together under one roof, in 20 clearly identified sectors. 

Number of Retail and trade, food industries, food service, the wine professionals, buyers from all around the globe visit SIAL to find new food products and/or new suppliers. 

A total of 6,300 exhibitors from 105 countries participated in the SIAL including 85% from abroad.

PRAN-RFL Group from Bangladesh has been participating in the fair for over a decade.  

PRAN is one of the largest agro-based food products manufacturer and exporting their products to 108 countries all over the world. 

They displayed 150 PRAN products in two categories - Beverage and Food items. Senior officials including Director, Chief of export and others from the Group are here to present their products in the fair.

The Ambassador of Bangladesh to France and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy visited the fair. They visited the PRAN stall and exchanged views with them. 

Eleash Mridha, Director of the company expressed his satisfaction with the experience of his group’s participation in the SIAL fair. 

“We have succeeded in using SIAL as a launching pad for our market expansion in both African countries and Europe”, Eleash Mridha said. 

While Eleash Mridha said: “Pran will continue to participate in SIAL every year, he feels that a Country Pavillion to showcase various agro-based food products could create more impact on buyers.” 

“A Country Pavillion would accommodate other companies from Bangladesh, which would better project the variety and strength of Bangladeshi companies in this   promising sector, he added.

Mizanur Rahman, Pran’s Chief of Export informed that participation cost is very high and that is why many of our companies cannot participate here. 

He also mentioned that now PRAN is capable of participating in trade fairs anywhere in the world. Other companies from our country can participate in this type of fair if they get support from government. The Ambassador assured that the embassy in collaboration with the Export Promotion Bureau, will take necessary action in this regard.
