FROM NATIONAL PARLIAMENT: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said that a seven-day exposition will be held to increase the export of cement in India.

The minister disclosed the matter while answering to a question at the 4th session of the 10th National Parliament on Thursday.

He said that the country exports cement to nine countries including India, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, Singapore, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Germany and Switzerland.

The country earned USD 5.49 million in 2013-14 FY, he added.

According to the minister, the incumbent government has taken several initiatives to increase cement export. As part of the initiatives, preparations are underway to arrange a seven-day exposition in one of the north-eastern provinces of India soon.
