DHAKA: German Development Cooperation (GIZ) recently signed a cooperation agreement with International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank Group for developing the quality assured solar lantern market in Bangladesh.

Both the agencies will work under the Lighting Asia Bangladesh program to increase the number of people accessing quality lights within their reach and at affordable costs a press release said.

They hope that this engagement will also contribute to the climate change mitigation by replacing the fuel-based lighting and reducing the Greenhouse Gas Emission.
