Two persons held with fake-note in city

DHAKA: Police arrested two persons from the city’ Mirpur area along with fake note, computer, printer and fake papers and seals of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in separate drives.

The arrested are Ibrahim and Nazrul Islam alias Joy.

Mirpur thana police said this producing them before the journalists on Wednesday noon.

Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur thana Quazi Wazed Ali said that police arrested Ibrahim with fake note from Kathaltala of South Manipur in the city on Monday night.

Police also seized fake note of Tk 21900 and a printer from Ibrahim`s possession, said OC.

He also said Ibrahim was an active member of organized gang who have been supplying fake note in the market.

Besides, police arrested Nazrul Islam alias Joy from Mirpur-2 section and recovered a computer, 59 fake seals and registration certificates of different vehicles, tax token, fake papers of BRTA on Wednesday morning.

Police are trying to arrest rest members of the gang.

Ibrahim however denied that he was not a member of the gang but confessed that fake notes were in his house.

He also confessed that he has been making fake certificate, fitness certificate and tax token by Tk 50-300.
