DSE, CSE see fall Wednesday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss of share prices indices on Wednesday (May 11), the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 11.87 points or 0.27 percent to stand at 4318.44 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 85,830 with transaction at over Tk 3,220.38 million. Of the issues traded, 136 advanced, 127 declined and 56 remained unchanged.

United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 476.51 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were BSRM Steels Limited, BSRM Limited, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Far East Knitting & Dyeing Industries Limited, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Linde Bangladesh Limited, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd. and Keya Cosmetics Limited.

Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 16.13 points to stand at 8075.64 on Wednesday.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 105 gained, 90 declined and 32 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 181.58 million on the day.
