Bourses witness mixed Tuesday

DHAKA: Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed loss of share prices indices while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed gain on Tuesday (May 31).

DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 3.61 points or 0.08 percent to stand at 4419.39 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 104,427 with transaction at over Tk 4262.35 million. Of the issues traded, 89 advanced, 143 declined while 44 remained unchanged.

Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 329.91 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd, Summit Alliance Port Limited, Olympic Industries, Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd, SAIF Powertec Limited and The Ibn Sina.

Meanwhile, the CSE saw up as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, acquired over 7.78 points to stand at 8287.35 on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 68 advanced, 126 declined while 40 remained unchanged.

The total value of exchange was over Tk 248.37 million.
