Thailand for big investment in Bangladesh

BANGKOK (THAILAND): Thailand foreign minister Don Pramudwinai on Wednesday (June 1) said his country is interested to go for a large investment in Bangladesh considering its better economic condition.

He further said his government encourages the large companies to increase investment in Bangladesh and believes those have already been working in this regard.

The Thai minister made the disclosure in a bilateral meeting with the Bangladesh state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam on the final day of a three-day Bangladesh Trade and Investment Expo 2016 in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand.

Pramudwinai also assured the Bangladesh state minister of direct coastal shipping saying it would a certain time.

He, however, hoped that the direct coastal shipping between the two countries will increase the business tie.

Bangladesh ambassador to Thailand Saida Muna Tasneem was also present in the meeting.

After the meeting, she said the journalists that a Thai delegation is expected to visit Bangladesh shortly to decrease the Visa related complexities.

She also said the aim of the expo was to boost up the people to people communication.

“We have created the platform. Now it is upto the business persons to take advantage of it,” she added.
