Bourses see consecutive loss on Monday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed loss in both share price indices on Monday (June 13).

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 3.99 points or 0.09 percent to stand at 4405.40 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 91,192 with transaction at over Tk 3637.86 million. Of the issues traded, 108 advanced, 146 declined and 62 remained unchanged.

The ACME Laboratories Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 370.43 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Orion Infusion Ltd, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd, Olympic Accessories Limited, Linde Bangladesh Limited, Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd and Olympic Industries.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 16.19 points to stand at 8246.86 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 89 gained, 116 declined and 33 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 221.93 million.
