Markets see loss Tuesday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- have witnessed loss in share price indices on Tuesday (July 19), the third trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 14.88 points or 0.32 percent to stand at 4556.92 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 89,034 with transaction at over Tk 3996.32 million. Of the issues traded, 73 advanced, 201 declined and 50 remained unchanged.

The Olympic Industries topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 204.95 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, Islami Bank, The ACME Laboratories Limited, Delta Brac Housing Finance Corp. Ltd., MJL Bangladesh Limited, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., Evince Textiles Limited, Beximco Pharma and Grameenphone.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 20.66 points to stand at 8524.23 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 56 gained, 138 declined and 48 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 319.89 million.
