DSE up, CSE down on Thursday

DHAKA: In the last trading session of the week on Thursday (July 28), the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed gain of share price indices while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw loss.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gain over 0.05 points or 0.001 percent to stand at 4538.26 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 96,957 with transaction at over Tk 3755.79 million. Of the issues traded, 109 advanced, 149 declined and 65 remained unchanged.

Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 178.50 million having changed hands till the time.

Other toppers of the market were Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, BRAC Bank Ltd., Islami Bank, United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., Grameenphone Ltd., ACME Laboratories Limited and MJL Bangladesh Limited.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however, witnessed inflation, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, loss over 7.41 points to stand at 8499.25 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 83 gained, 123 declined and 44 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 421.55 million.
