DHAKA: Country’s two share markets -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices for the third day on the trot on Wednesday (August 3), the fourth trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 23.60 points or 0.51 percent to stand at 4575.97 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 119,673 with transaction at over Tk 4521.39 million. Of the issues traded, 165 advanced, 101 declined and 59 remained unchanged.

Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 198.55 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, National Tubes Limited, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Jamuna Oil Company Limited and ACME Laboratories Limited.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit as CSCX, the prime index of the port city share market gained over 43.10 points to stand at 8558.63 points.

Of the issues traded in CSE, 123 gained, 94 declined and 44 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 297.51 million on Wednesday.
