DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Monday (August 21), the second trading day on a stretch.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 1.18 points or 0.02 percent to stand at 4577.84 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 114,688 with transaction at over Tk 4472.43 million. Of the issues traded, 112 advanced, 130 declined and 82 remained unchanged.

Keya Cosmetics topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 194.84 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, MJL Bangladesh Limited, National Tubes Limited, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., Delta Life Insurance, BSRM Steels Limited, Aman Feed Limited and Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 17.42 points to stand at 8553.50 points on Monday.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 81 gained, 123 declined and 46 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 257.10 million.
