DHAKA: Grameenphone (GP) launched an online e-commerce shop named ‘GP Shop’, for customers to buy latest smartphones, wearable gadgets, and modems with exclusive offers.
The launching ceremony was held at a city hotel on Tuesday (August 23).
This is the first e-commerce site by a mobile operator in Bangladesh, said a press release.
Through the GP online shop any customer can order the latest smartphones, gadgets with authentic manufacturer’s warranty, pay through flexible payment options (EMI) and get home delivery nationwide.
According to the release, the shop offers only genuine products, best handset value, bundles & exclusive offers for all customers to avail.
As of now the GP shop is the first e-commerce site to offer genuine Xiaomi handset bundles through its pre-order mechanism.
Grameenphone’s Chief Marketing Officer, Yasir Azman said, “GP Shop offers secured service, variety of devices across all price ranges, exclusive offers, all payment options and most importantly nationwide delivery and distribution capability through GP Express”.

He further said, “GP Shop is one step farther towards becoming the preferred Digital Service Provider of our customers”.
Grameenphone’s online shop is also one of first e-commerce sites in Bangladesh offering secured platform to protect the customer information and offer a secured online transaction.
The shop allows its customer pay through flexible payment gateways including bKash, SureCash, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, DBBL Nexus, Mycash and IBBL mCash.
Customers will also be able to pay through up to 24 EMIs on selected devices with selected credit cards. All devices, purchased from GP Shop, come with one-year manufacturer warranty along with 24x7 customer service, the release added.
Leveraging on Grameenphone’s physical distribution & retail strength, the GP online shop is seamlessly integrated with more than 2500 GP Express physical stores across the nation.
Customers not only get to avail traditional Telecom assistance from GP Express, but also use their facility to order from GP Online shop and pick up the product at their convenience.
