Bourses see loss at opening

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- are witnessed loss in share price indices at the opening hours on Sunday (August 28), the first trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 9.41 points or 0.20 percent to stand at 4544.85 points at 12:27pm.

Trade deals stood at 56,842 with transaction at over Tk 2267.02 million. Of the issues traded, 117 advanced, 132 declined and 60 remained unchanged.

National Tubes topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 123.25 million having changed hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 25.39 points to stand at 8495.88 points till 12:24 pm.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 54 gained, 112 declined and 41 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 114.68 million.
