Bourses witness loss Tuesday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss of share prices indices on Tuesday (September 27).

DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 6.30 points or 0.13 percent to stand at 4677.68 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 128,451 with transaction at over Tk 5342.11million. Of the issues traded, 105 advanced, 181 declined and 38 remained unchanged.

Yeakin Polymer Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 286.02 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited, Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd., Olympic Accessories Limited, Singer Bangladesh Limited, LankaBangla Finance Ltd., Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Aman Feed Limited, Olympic Industries Ltd. and MJL Bangladesh Limited.

Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 9.91 points to stand at 8756.11 on Monday.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 86 gained, 124 declined and 37 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 331.38 million on the day.
