Bourses see up Wednesday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Wednesday (September 28).

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gain over 12.94 points or 0.27 percent to stand at 4920.96 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 103,618 with transaction at over Tk 109,418 million. Of the issues traded, 134 advanced, 134 declined and 55 remained unchanged.

LankaBangla Finance Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 182.31 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Yeakin Polymer Limited, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Singer Bangladesh Limited, National Tubes Limited, GSP Finance Company (Bangladesh) Limited, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited and Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the trend, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, acquired over 6.07 points to stand at 8762.19 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 95 gained, 118 declined and 32 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 320.48 million till then.
