DHAKA: The benchmark indices of the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed loss on Sunday (October 2), the first trading session of the week.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 4.25 points and 0.09 percent to stand at 4690.93 at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 123,724 with a transaction of Tk 5312.42 million.
Of the issues traded, 137 advanced, 139 declined and 46 remained unchanged.
MJL Bangladesh Limited. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 237.32 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market include BSRM Steels Limited, Paramount Textile Ltd., Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd., LankaBangla Finance Ltd., Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Yeakin Polymer Ltd., Doreen Power generations and Systems Ltd., Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd., and CMC Kamal Textile Mills Ltd.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of CSE, lost 19.01 points to stand at 8766.84 on the day.
Out of the issues traded, 107 gained, 109 declined and 32 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 302.83 million.
