DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain in share price indices on Thursday (October 6), the fifth and final trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 9.67 points or 0.20 percent to stand at 4723.72 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 110,151 with transaction at Tk 4889.11 million. Of the issues traded, 128 advanced, 127 declined and 67 remained unchanged.
Bangladesh Shipping Corporation topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 153.08 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market include MJL Bangladesh, BRAC Bank, Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., Singer Bangladesh Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Ltd., Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries Ltd., BSRM Steels Limited and Active Fine Chemicals Limited.
Meanwhile, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 12.76 points to stand at 8835.09 points.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 109 advanced, 107 declined and 34 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 307.01 million.
