DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – started the week witnessing gain in share price indices on Sunday (October 16), the first trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 8.31 points or 0.17 percent to stand at 4709.62 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 109,132 with transaction over Tk 4838.33 million. Of the issues traded, 137 advanced, 135 declined and 51 remained unchanged.
Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 268.11 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were National Bank Ltd., Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd., MJL Bangladesh Limited, Olympic Industries Ltd., Summit Power Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited and Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 29.87 points to stand at 8817.18 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 113 gained, 100 declined and 31 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 312.14 million.
