DHAKA: Investors witnessed fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange – on Monday (October 17).
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 16.67 points and 0.35 percent to stand at 4692.94 at the end of the day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 107,724 with transaction at Tk 4567.15 million.
Of the issues traded, 93 advanced, 173 declined and 56 remained unchanged.
Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 183.03 million having changed hands.
The other toppers are Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, National Bank Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd., National Housing Fin. and Inv. Ltd., BDCOM Online Ltd., Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd., Uttara Finance and Investments Limited and Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, s CSCX, the prime index, climbing down to 8757.50 by dropping over 59.67 points.
Out of the issues traded, 74 gained, 143 declined and 30 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 286.92 million.
